Fat Transfer
Fat Transfer is the technique of moving fat from one area of the body to another to improve contour, correct defects, or enhance features.
Fat is harvested through a liposuction canula (tube) from the abdomen or hips and carefully prepared for re-implantation by spinning the fat in a centrifuge to separate the cells from the fluid. The fat is then injected with a blunt needle and syringe into the desired locations.

The Fat Transfer procedure is performed on an outpatient basis with local anaesthesia and usually takes about 90 minutes. The majority of patients have immediate correction with little telltale signs of the procedure. There is a small chance of bruising and swelling for several days, but no bandaging is necessary. If the face is treated, make-up can be worn immediately afterward.
The amount of fat removed from the donor site is minimal compared to traditional liposuction surgery, and will not alter the appearance of that location. The donor area is covered by an elastic pressure bandage for up to one week and can be mildly sore.
Areas that fat transfer is useful for are the buttocks, facial lines, chin, forehead, brows, cheeks, smile lines and lips.
Fat transfer can be used to sculpt facial contour and correct certain scars caused by trauma or acne. Accentuating the cheek fat pads can give the appearance of higher cheek bones, while augmenting the chin fat pad creates a strong chin.
Average Price Range: $1100-$5000
