Earlobe Reduction/Repair
Age, genetics, and other factors often contribute to disproportionately large earlobes that have lost their tone or hang loosely. Earlobes can also be lengthened and damaged by age, heavy earrings, and heredity.
By utilising small incisions, earlobes can be repaired and/or made smaller in size. This often results in a more youthful appearance.

An Earlobe Reduction is a procedure designed to remove excess skin and tissue from a small incision that blends into the ear’s natural creases. Normally performed under local anaesthesia, the surgery takes about one hour, after which the patient can usually go home and return to normal life.
Earlobe Repair is a common plastic/cosmetic procedure. Ear lobes are an important body feature for both men and women who like to wear earrings. Large earrings that dangle can be caught on clothing or grasped by a child and the result may be a partially or completely torn earlobe.
Repair of a damaged or torn earlobe is a simple procedure. It is usually performed in the doctor’s office under local anaesthesia and typically takes around 30 minutes.
A special Z-shaped incision is made during the repair to prevent “notching” of the lower border of the ear lobe. Sutures are placed and remain intact for approximately 5 days. If desired, ears may be re-pierced in six to eight weeks.
Another problem that cosmetic surgery can fix is wrinkled earlobes. For patients undergoing other rejuvenating procedures, deep wrinkles of the earlobes can be of some concern. This problem is easily treated with
laser resurfacing of the earlobes to restore the previous smooth, youthful texture of the earlobes.
