The clinic was formed by Dr Grose in 1996, with the express purpose of providing clients with professional skin care advice in a positive and uplifting atmosphere.

Dr Grose and his staff at Australian Skin Clinics regularly attend both International and Australian Medical Conferences, to make sure that the advice given to patients is the most up-to-date available. Dr Grose is involved with the Continuing Medical Education activities of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and the Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australasia (CPSA). He is currently Queensland President of the CPSA and is a member of its National Executive.

Dr Douglas Grose has developed his own range of skin care products, ASAP. These products are widely used throughout Australia and New Zealand by Cosmetic Physicians, Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons.

Dr Grose graduated from Sydney University School of Medicine in 1970. He also holds a First Class Honors degree in Science majoring in Pharmacology. He holds a Diploma from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of England majoring in Obstetrics.

For twenty-one years he practiced in tropical Central Queensland where he developed a particular interest in the effects of sun damage on the skin and acne. In 1996 he moved to the Gold Coast and established Australian Skin Clinics. Initial training in cosmetic medicine was with established experts in the field both in Australia and in the United States. Dr Grose was awarded a Fellowship of the Faculty of Medicine of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery in 2000 and is extensively involved in lecturing and training of cosmetic doctors and nurses.

He is Certified in Laser usage by both the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and the Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australasia and is fully Licensed by Queensland Health having met all their requirements including approved laser safety courses.

He trained in Liposculpture commencing in 2000 through training courses developed by the College of Cosmetic Surgery and mentorships with Dr. Ashley Granot, a very experienced Melbourne based Cosmetic Surgeon.
