Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic Acupuncture, or Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation, is an effective way to remove fine lines and wrinkles from the face.

Based on the ancient practice of Oriental Medicine, Cosmetic Acupuncture is a safe, non-surgical treatment for helping to reduce the signs of the ageing process.

Acupuncture helps promote the circulation of Qi (energy) and blood in the face and body, stimulating and toning sagging and ageing skin, while removing toxins and encouraging cell reproduction. It can eliminate dark circles under the eyes and reduce sagging or puffy eyelids and double chins. It will help rejuvenate facial tissue by increasing circulation to the area and stimulate collagen production, thereby moisturising the face, resulting in a healthy glowing complexion.

Very fine, disposable acupuncture needles (approximately 30-40) are inserted at individually selected points on the face to stimulate the flow of Qi and improve blood circulation. Once the needles are inserted you may experience a very pleasant warm tingling sensation, which is a sign that the treatment is having an effect. You will then be left to relax while the treatment works.

Inserting needles into the skin causes oxygenated, nutrient-rich blood to rush to that spot promoting circulation and healing.

A minimum of 10-15 treatments is required for optimal results. Treatments are usually scheduled twice a week for five weeks and then once a week thereafter. Treatments are tailored to suit each individual.

You may see results after one treatment, but lasting results are shown at about the 7th treatment. Cosmetic Acupuncture treatment involves many more points and different techniques than traditional acupuncture, but is, as usual, pain free. The risks include bruising and possibly temporary headaches.

The effects can last for years with regularly scheduled maintenance treatments

Cosmetic Acupuncture provides good results at all stages of skin ageing. However, the best results are achieved with early and preventive treatment, when your skin just starts to age, when you first start noticing wrinkles and bags under your eyes.
