Coblation
Coblation is a non-laser skin resurfacing technique.
Using coblation, doctors can treat individuals for pigmentation problems, coarse skin texture, sun damaged skin and fine lines. It is a safe method for removing fine lines around the eye and mouth area.

During a coblation skin resurfacing procedure, radiofrequency energy is in constant contact with the skin, stripping the top layers. The heating of the skin stimulates the production of new collagen, which is what tightens the skin to remove the wrinkles. Brown spots and uneven tones are improved as well.
As Coblation only affects the top layer of skin there is less damage to the rest of it, and burning the skin is less of a problem. It is a more accurate form of treatment and is quicker to do than some laser treatments. In addition, the skin recovers more quickly, there is less redness, and the results can be seen sooner.
A local anaesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment. The amount of time that the procedure takes varies, depending on the size of the area being treated, as well as the severity of the skin condition. It can last from a few minutes to an hour and a half.
There is rarely any bleeding but there can be some seepage of fluid from the surface of the skin for a couple of days.
Initial results will be evident within a few weeks; however, the final results of Coblation will take up to 6 months to fully develop. The effect can last between 3-5 years.
Recovery time with Coblation is much shorter than with laser skin-resurfacing and strong chemical peels.
